Alona Malinovska – Group Head of Client Services

Back in spring at we started “Things we read” email string to share links to books, articles and videos around professional advice and leadership.

In part three we invite you to immerse yourself in one of our favourite playlists, read about productivity hacks, Facebook Ads and the continuous increase of affiliate marketing spend.

Spotify deep concentration playlist: definitely helps me focus. It’s said to be Ideal for cognitive tasks, attentive, engaged in problem solving, judgment, decision making, or focused mental activity. Music blended with Beta Waves and Alpha Waves, encouraging a high level of focus to make the most of you work and learning time.

Practical advice around productivity from The Ascent, a community of storytellers documenting the journey to happiness & fulfilment.

Facebook Ads could be inherently discriminatory:according to research conducted by scientist from the University of Southern Carolina, Facebook might be steering ads to specific groups without explicit intent, making the system skewed towards some demographics. If you have time for a longer read, here’s the original research.

Affiliate marketing spend increases 15.1%, topping £550 million in 2017: last year, for the first time IAB separated the affiliate marketing from overall spend on digital. We know from experience that 2018 showed another increase, but we’re yet to hear from IAB what their figures for last year look like.
