Laura Vega, Webgains Scrum Master<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This week we had the pleasure of interviewing Laura Vega, the Scrum Master. Her role at Webgains is to facilitate the work of our agile development team. Here’s what Laura had to say about her position, what gets her out of bed in the morning, and how to get the most out of your job.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to recent new entrants?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ask for more: more challenges, more training, more responsibilities. I’ve got very nice opportunities when I’ve asked for more, especially in this company where there’s a lot a room for everyone to grow.<\/p>\n

What do you like most about your job?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coming from a business background, it fascinates me to see how ideas grow into products that satisfy our customer’s needs. But what I like the most is seeing how we can achieve this using the latest technologies.<\/p>\n

What gets you out of bed in the morning?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A good 6 am gym session. When the alarms goes off at 5.30am, I question my life decisions, but it just feels so good after completing an early morning workout.<\/p>\n

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A typical day starts with the gym. At the office, my day consists of checking with the teams what the progress is on a day-to-day basis, help them solve any issues they might have to achieve the teams’ goals. I also help our POs planning ‘what’s next’ regarding our products.<\/p>\n

After the office, I have rowing training most days.<\/p>\n

Right now we are currently working on some exciting advertiser solutions, amongst others. So, stay tuned!<\/p>\n
