This week we have interviewed our UK Head of Sales, Julie Davidson. With a wealth of experience and a great sense of humour, it was a great pleasure to find out a little about Julie’s professional career and interests.
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
Giving everything up in Edinburgh and making the move to London 5 years ago.
What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?
Every day is different but mostly involves working with the team, game planning for the month. I also work with the publisher and account teams on client strategy and ways we can bring business into Webgains.
What has been your experience at working at Webgains so far?
Every day has been a school day. Great to learn the part that everyone plays in making our clients program a success.
How did you get into digital marketing?
Completely by chance, from a conversation with a friend of a friend in a pub. Had not long moved to London and was looking for a job, my friends’ friend said she knew someone who was looking for a salesperson for a retargeting company…..and the rest is history.
What three words would you use to describe your role?
Rewarding, Interesting, Challenging
What is on your wish list for your next 5 years?
Grow the business development team and for Webgains to become one of the most respected networks globally with the best clients and service.
If you could choose anyone, who would you choose as your mentor?
Even though I already have a fantastic mentor already I do have a soft spot for Claude Littner.
What do you like most about your job?
Solving problems for clients and the satisfaction the team gets when a client comes and board and has a successful affiliate program with us.
What advice would you give to recent new entrants?
Never stop learning.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Might as well get hung for a sheep as a lamb.
