Spotlight on… Seedrs

This week we had the pleasure to put a spotlight on one of our advertisers – Seedrs. Read on to find out about what does a day at Seedrs look like, how it was founded and what is their mission!

Who are Seedrs? What is the company vision and mission?

Seedrs are a UK-based equity crowdfunding platform that lets anybody invest in startups.
We let all types of investors invest in businesses they believe in and share in their success. We let all types of growth-focused businesses raise capital and business community in the process.

We do all of this through a simple, highly professional, online process that protects and empowers investors while helping businesses grow and generate returns.

We are equity crowdfunding done properly.

Who is the target audience of Seedrs?

Our target audiences are individuals interested in investing their own capital in the latest startups and early-stage companies and also the entrepreneurs themselves.

How was Seedrs founded?

Jeff Lynn founded equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs in the height of the recession when startups were struggling to borrow from banks and VCs and angels were holding onto their wallets. He believed that early stage equity was an asset class that should be open to a wider audience of professionals looking to invest in a high risk, high returns space whilst supporting some of the most innovative tech startups coming out of Europe.

Seedrs was launched in 2012 and has since funded over 560 deals with £290 million invested into ambitious startups on the platform. Seedrs is now the most active investor into UK private companies but also funds businesses across Europe and has investors from 60 countries using the platform frequently. We have offices in London, Berlin, Lisbon and Amsterdam and have grown the team to 80 employees.

Through Seedrs, Jeff has democratised startup investment for the masses as well as supporting hundreds of entrepreneurs that wouldn’t have otherwise been able to launch. We have funded deals including Revolut (£4 million from over 50000 investors), Tandem (£2.4m from over 2500 investors), Perkbox, Weswap, Landbay, Assetz Capital…the list goes on.

We recently funded insurtech business Wrisk, stock trading app Bux and have a whole lineup of exciting businesses waiting to go live in 2018.

What does a day at Seedrs look like?

As we are a young vibrant company in an ever-changing financial market, Seedrs have a dynamic working environment. We often have entrepreneurs from the latest hot startups in the office keeping us up to date with the latest movements in the startup world. With so many passionate people in a constantly evolving market, there’s never a dull moment at Seedrs.
