Welcome to the Webgains Advertiser Spotlight. To begin, could you please tell us a little bit about Kind Bag?

Kind Bag is on a mission to empower people to live a more sustainable life by creating stylish accessories that look good and do good. We aim to inspire a new generation of conscious consumers who are committed to having a positive impact on the planet.

Established in Hackney in 2019, we are the leading creators of 100% recycled plastic and recyclable bags. We create sustainable accessories uniquely designed to combat plastic pollution and drive change in the fashion industry. Every accessory we design has sustainability, functionality and beauty at the forefront. We put thought and care into everything we do, ensuring every last detail and its impact is considered. When there is an ever growing mountain of plastic waste, why make more when you can help reduce it?

‘Kind Bag is on a mission to empower people to live a more sustainable life by creating stylish accessories that look good and do good’.

We work hard to empower people to live more sustainable lives and make kind choices. Day by day, we are becoming a stronger force for good against plastic pollution and we are so grateful for everyone that joins us on our mission!

Is there anything else you’d like to add? For instance, what are your business values? What is your story?

Our founder, Maria, hails from Tenerife, growing up surrounded by the beautiful ocean, she developed an appreciation of the natural world early on. Despite beginning her career as a lawyer, she felt her calling lay elsewhere and, following a stint around Asia, her eyes were opened to the effects of plastic pollution. This was her wake-up call.

All her efforts were then focused on designing a product that could reduce the plastic mountain, while also being an attractive proposition to everyone. This, coupled with her own difficulties in finding a bag strong enough to encompass her groceries and belongings, led to the creation of Kind Bag.

With Kind Bag, reducing plastic pollution isn’t just an aim – it’s a goal we have already achieved and are looking to build upon. So far we’ve rescued over 3.5 million plastic bottles from ending up in landfills or our oceans. We also donate 1% of all our sales to positive environmental causes through 1% for the planet.

What can you tell us about your audience? What types of Publishers do you work best with?

Unsurprisingly, our audience is mainly female, with the biggest age category being 25- 34, closely followed by 35-44.  Our audience shares our ethos and values and those that purchase on our website are driven by sustainability and are seeking high quality products that will last.

We’re keen to work with Publishers that will help share our story and inspire consumers to make environmentally conscious purchasing decisions.

Is there anything else you’d like Publishers on Webgains to know?

Voted Great British Entrepreneurs of London & the South-East of England last year, Kind Bags are kind in both name and nature. Around 8-9 million metric tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, at Kind Bag we take that plastic and turn it into beautiful accessories. All our products are made 100% from post-consumer single-use plastic bottles right down to every zip, pocket and lining.

We’ve set ourselves apart from our competitors not only through our choice of sustainable materials but also by making packaging that is fully recyclable, using paper tapes, recycled cardboard sleeves, FSC certified papers and eco-friendly ink.  All our products are stylish, sustainable and functional.

So, what makes Kind Bag an exciting company?

Other than being 100% recycled, reusable and ethically made our bags are bright and stylish meaning they not only appeal to eco-conscious customers, but also to those that are more fashion and aesthetic focused. We’ve had lots of feedback feeling us that our Kind Bags have positively altered consumers’ shopping habits and outlook on eco-friendly products.

We’ve grown hugely in the last few years, expanding our product range from 12 products to over 40 different designs with lots more to come this year! We’re giving plastic bottles a makeover to make shopping sustainably and with style easy.

Does Kind Bag have any exciting plans coming up in 2022?

We have a whole host of new collections launching in the next few months, including the expansion of our accessories range to include laptop sleeves, pouches and the”Hackney” 2.0 backpack. Alongside this we will also be announcing the launch of two new artist collaborations that are always incredibly popular with our customers.
