Welcome to the Webgains Advertiser Spotlight. To begin, could you please tell us a little bit about BBC ICECREAM EU?

BBC ICECREAM EU is the premium tier of BBCICECREAM Universe. The label has kept the original flavours from its origins, blending streetwear and luxury in a way that it stays aspirational, inspiring and at the centre of the culture. BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB and ICECREAM EU have been fostering the underground cultural scene across Europe, giving a platform to the most exciting emerging artists in the brand’s community. After projects with the likes of Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Vic Mensa, Joey Badass, Sainte and more – the brand continues to move forward in spite of its rich history.

Is there anything else you’d like to add? For instance, what are your business values? What is your story?

In April 2003, Pharrell Williams, the 10-time Grammy Winning producer, singer and fashion designer met with iconic streetwear mogul NIGO who lent him his studio – the two bonded directly over their love of music. After discussing the concept for a new brand, the duo met with globally renowned graphic designer SK8THING at a club, where he showed them three logos that he had just conceived. An idea was born, Williams and NIGO using the drawings as the now-iconic logo to launch their fashion brand BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB.

The launch of ICECREAM came two years later. Initially conceived as a sneaker collection to compliment Billionaire Boys Club, it quickly became a stand-alone brand with apparel and accessories collection fuelled by SK8THING’s designs. With the sneakers originally made for skaters, the fits were quickly adopted by the community that played such a pivotal role in Pharrell’s design philosophy.

What can you tell us about your audience? What types of Publishers do you work best with?

Our audience covers those who have been with the brand since it’s inception in 2003, right the way through to the new generation – we cross so many different pockets of culture in fashion, music, and skate that our audience is super broad and always evolving.

So, what makes your company an exciting one?   

For us, it’s that we sit across so many different pockets of the culture we’re a part of. We’re a fashion brand that has close ties to the music scene – something that is really prevalent in a lot of our marketing and activations. This is shown in the broad nature of our customers. We have OG fans of the brand, fans of Pharrell Williams’ musical endeavours, skaters, streetwear and those that are only now discovering BBC / ICECREAM and what it means to the culture.  

Does BBC ICECREAM EU have any exciting plans coming up in what is left of 2023 and beyond?

We have a couple of really exciting collaborations with some major brands. We’re launching Kidswear for the first time (really soon) –  it’s also our 20th Anniversary this year so we have some special activations for that coming up, too.
